  • April 22:  The Unit celebrated Earth Day when focus was placed on 'Tips for an Environmentally Friendly Office. Keeping in mind the importance of cutting carbon emissions.
     
  • The plant has a recycling program and employees take steps to increase their recycling efforts with respect to aluminium cans, plastic bottles and all paper products. The Unit was awarded a Certificate of Environmental Accomplishment, for participating in the 'Shred-It' program that places an emphasis on shredding and recycling.
     
  • Employees were invited to participate in an Earth Day Quiz and the top 10 point earners received an environmentally friendly bag as a prize.
    
     

  2010

  • April 22: Earth Day 2010 was me with much excitement among the employees. Prizes were given out to employees who scored well in an eco quiz., as well environmentally friendly practices were promoted in the workplace.  

  

Based on an Employee initiative, 80 new tree-plants are planted on Tapioszele site in 2010.

• All the Units of the Company are ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certified and CG has also taken steps to measure and lower its Carbon Footprint.
   
• All company owned vehicles comply with Euro II standards. A vehicle not having the Pollution Under Control certificate is not allowed inside the CG premises.
   
• Across all the Units, extensive tree plantations, water-harvesting projects and waste management projects have been set up.
   
• All the premises owned and occupied by CG have been declared as ‘No-Smoking’ zones.
   
• World Environment Day is observed on 5th June every year.
   
• The employees of the Unit in Mandideep helped by digging up the bed of the lake and loading the silt into trucks.   Increasing the dept of the lake, will enable the storage of more water and provide additional supply to the people of Bhopal.
  
  
  
  
  

CG Power Systems Ireland demonstrates it respect for the Environment by adhering to and maintaining accreditation to ISO 14001. We seperate and recycle different paper classes and recyles metals and printer cartridges.

• CG organised a coloring and poster-making contest for the children and grandchildren of its employees.
  
  
       
• Each employee received a re-usable shopping bag that has "Earth Day" and our Company name on it. 
  
  
  
   
• CG also pays special attention to reecycling of paper and cardboard products, as well as aluminium beverage cans.
